TAYLOR, MI—Adair Graphic Communications, a printing company founded in Detroit in 1931, has been acquired by and will now operate as a Division of Printwell, Inc. going forward.

Paul Borg, President & CEO of Printwell, with Dennis Adair, Vice President of Adair Graphic Communications

Paul Borg, President & CEO of Printwell and Dennis Adair, grandson of the founder and former President of Adair—and now Vice President of the new Printwell division—jointly announced the relationship in a letter to the customers and friends of Adair Graphic Communications on February 20.

“We are pleased to announce some very good news. Adair Graphic Communications is entering a new phase and, as a Division of Printwell, Inc., can serve you better with expanded capabilities.

“Adair, which has been in business for 88 years, is now poised for significant growth and expansion into the future. By becoming a division of Printwell—which has an extraordinary record of success—Adair will continue to operate as it always has over the years and be able to offer more products and services than ever before.”

As a division of Printwell, Adair Graphic Communications will maintain the goodwill and customer relationships it has built up over the years. The only change will be that Adair will now operate out of a larger facility with more capacity and capabilities in a new location in Taylor, Michigan.

The combination of Printwell and Adair Graphic Communications brings a unique blend of capabilities and services to the customers of both companies in the markets they serve. Printwell’s record of success over the past 37 years in the full-color publication, direct mail and high-end commercial print markets will now be combined with Adair’s long-standing record of providing catalog and book publishing products and services.

Additionally, Adair’s suite of custom and online content management and automated publishing software solutions brings world class capabilities to the many customers of both companies in the advertising and marketing, publishing, education, health care, manufacturing, non-profit, retail/consumer and government printing markets.

Paul Borg and Dennis Adair also said the following in their announcement: “Please be assured that Adair will continue to provide the same exceptional customer service that you have come to expect. In addition to the catalog and publication products and services that Adair has offered for many decades, we are now be able to offer annual reports, brochures and many other high-end commercial print products along with digital and variable data printing and full mailing and lettershop capabilities.

“As a division of Printwell, please also be assured that all estimates, purchase orders, contracts, works in progress, licensing agreements and business commitments with Adair Graphic Communications remain in force and are being honored.”

The announcement of the acquisition of Adair Graphic Communications by Printwell was welcomed by both customers and the printing industry as a whole as Adair has enjoyed a long history of loyalty and respect from both. The decision of Dennis Adair to come on board with Printwell, in particular, is seen as a commitment to the long-term success of the effort.

Nick Wagner, President of the Printing Industries of Michigan, said the following about the announcement, “Adair Graphic Communications is a very well-known name in the visual graphic communications and printing industries both here in Michigan and across the country. As a printer for Ford, General Motors and Fiat-Chrysler, Adair will now be able to continue on as an important member of the automotive supplier community. It is also good news that as a division of Printwell, Adair will be preserving jobs in our industry and moving forward with new and expanded capabilities.”
